i just took a pre-employment polygraph with a local department that I really want to get into. After the test was over the examiner asked me briefly about two issues I might've shown a reaction to. After we covered that he simply said that he didn't see any major problematic reactions, all in all and that the test was now over. The impression I got from him was that the test went smoothly. Before I left I asked him a little bit about his experience in the department (aside from being a polygraph investigator he was also a long time veteran of the department, so I was curious). He answered in a very willing and friendly manner. He didn't seem pi$$ed off or suspicious towards me at all. So it seems to me that things went well, but then again I obviously have no clue as to how final decisions are calculated. All I can say is that I was honest to the best of my ability and recollection. I really tried to cover all issues we discussed as thoroughly as possible. Aside from being a trained polygraph examiner, this man also had years of experience in investigations and internal affairs. I definitely had no intention of messing around with him. Anyway, from how the test went I assume that I passed without any major problems, but I wanted to get any and all opinions from anyone with experience here. Thanks in advance. If I'm lucky, hopefully I'll have the honor of being among your ranks soon.
