Sorry guys, I should have mentioned that the comment I made earlier about the July 2004 class being postponed to October was heard from another applicant who claims he was informed by a detective in the Medical Division during his medical screening. So I can't ensure that this bit of information I received is reliable. So it can not be confirmed, it could be just a rumor, that is why I ask if anyone else has heard any news about this. It's also difficult to get straight answers from the department, because sometimes they just don't know themselves.

I think some can recall what happened with the January 2004 class. This class too was heard to be just a rumor months before the actual hiring and look they went in, so who's to say what's confirmed or not.

This "delay" rumor was brought up during my mini-medical last week. We were told the July 2004 and January 2005 classes are still on-schedule. People asked specifically because they wanted to know when to give in their two weeks notice for their current jobs. Both detectives running the medical said not to tender your resignation until your sworn in, but the city desperately needs more people so they highly doubted any delays.

Daltrix, you had the mini-medical already? Isn't that the last step? If your done already, how long did the whole process take from your first meeting till now?

Nah, the mini-medical I'm referring to was taken last week. I still have to take my psych (tomorrow), agility (next week) and meet with my background investigator. I spent most of today finishing my BI packet (bleh). My typing came out off-centered on a few forms, a real pain in the ***.

Im on exam 2072. I took the Mini-Medical in January 2004 almost 3 weeks before the acadamy went in. Everyone there was hoping to make the cut. Although the Mini-Medical is a good indication that "you may be next", it is not a gurantee. They even told all of us where it would be. Luckily for me, I did not quit my job. Im thinking im sure to get in for the next class, I am just not sure if I have to redo the Agility and 1.5 Mile again.

Will I get a letter asking me to go in or do I have to start calling the Candidate hotline to schedule an appointment?

If I were you I'd call. Every time i called they always take my SS#, I think they are looking up my status in the computer. Your name may be frozen on the list, I'm not sure how that works.
