Too Many Applications..... So LittleTime

I have a problem, albeit a good one. I have applied to several local police departments and have made it through the preliminary tests for all. The problem is the next step for each one is on the same day. One department is holding it's tutoring session, but I think I can get by without it as I have passed all the wriiten exams for the other departments already. One department is holding it's written test, and the other is holding the oral board interview. In my hometown there was an instance with a freind of mine that was able to bypass the written test because he already passed another larger departments written exam. Is this something that is done pretty much everywhere? Is it unprofessional to call and explain my situation and ask if there is anything they can do to accomadate my situation. I hate to have to pick and choose, because both departments have excellent qualities. Any help would be great.

If you can't get out of appearing, you will have to pick what looks like the BEST prospective department. Are you sure they aren't doing some of their testing together ? We did just that with 2 other dept's last year. You could test for all 3 at one time.

I put a call in to see if the smaller department will accept my test score I received for the larger department. The larger department is the largest city and the capitol. I have not received an answer as of yet.

The day I was hired, I also received a call from PA State Police offering me a job. I had been through both dept's testing and it just happened that way.
