NYPD Academy classes after July '04 and January '05

Would anyone know when one of the next NYPD Academy classes are being tentatively scheduled for beyond the next two classes in July '04 and Jan '05?I took exam 3007 and was scheduled to go down to the Academy on 3/28 to start my paperwork,but cannot since I only have 32 college credits as we speak.I will hopefully have my 60 credits by July of '05 so I'm hoping for the best.Any info would be extremely helpful,since I'm getting pretty nervous here seeing that they are going to hire around 4000 new officers within the next year or so.I just hope that all the spots aren't taken up by the time I get my 60 credits!!!!!

I've been following when the classes are for a few years now, and it seems that nearly every Jan. and July they have a class. With all the cops approaching retirement, I think it is a safe bet you will see a July 05 class. Remember, there are nearly 40,000 on the job in NY, so someone is retiring all the time!

Is this January '05 class definite? I know they said the same thing for January 04 and many people were dissapointed that they didn't have a class.

There is a class @ the academy now. Im guessing that they started in january.

I was told by the applicant processing division that there would be a January '05 class. Wasn't told of anything beyond that, however. I'm sure that there will be a class in July '05. For the July '04 class, the applicant needed 60 credits before the entrance date. You could take the interviews and go through the rest of the application process as long as you will have your 60 credits by the Academy class date, and meet the other entrance requirements.

I'm currently going through the NYPD hiring process and in regard to whether there will definitely be a January 2005 class, we've been told there will definitely be one. According to the detectives running the candidate screening process, the NYPD plans to put 2000 through the academy in July 2004 and January 2005. The 2000 recruits per class was based on a manpower needs assessment taking retirements and promotions into consideration. Beyond those two classes, I'm not sure, but I'd bet there will be another 2005 class.
