    ACD-Background check

I received an ACD about 2 years ago for possession of less than 1 gram of marijuana. This is basically a slap on the wrist and I was told by the judge to stay out of trouble for 6 months. After the 6 months, an ACD is removed from your record. Actually the cops told me that the whole record is erased as if I was never even in the precinct and my fingerprints will be erased. Would this still show up in the background investigation during the hiring process for the NYPD? NYPD's policy is an applicant may not have a felony. However, an ACD is basically a violation and not serious at all. Someone who knows, please let me know. Thanks

Are you kidding me? After what you have been told you are now trying to spew your bull**** to other people? These people that come here are impressionable, and they will listen to any advice given.

When taking advise from someone better check to make sure it says Verified LEO on the right side of their post. Right across from their name. There are a lot of people on here who have no idea what hey are talking about. Be careful. And in answer to your question: Be honest and tell them everything. It more about character than what you may have done in the past. Hey I am no expert, but you are trying to become a cop, they do this stuff for a living. You wont be able to get it past them.

Tell them about it. If you do not and they find it you will not only be done with thid department but any other you go to as well. If it does not show up when they look you will still get points for being honest enough to tell them about it and honesty is one of the most important things they will be looking for.
And your whiney *** crybaby excuse would be....

Uh.... Whaaat?? I'm sorry, I thought people here were either law enforcement, wanted to be law enforcement, or at least respected law enforcement. I didn't know I was on the criminal resource forum.

Yea I was there so I know what you're talking about. I've had an ACD, a summons for trespassing, and a speeding ticket that was dismissed. I don't think any of those should be a problem, especially since I disclosed everything. What do you think?

Also, as we were leaving this past Saturday, one of the cops told me that I'm in good shape as long as I dont lie. So I dont plan on hiding anything.
