Questionable Tattoos

I've been interested in applying the police department in Baltimore. However, there's one thing that I've been curious/worried about during the hiring process. I have a tattoo that is partially visible on my collarbone when I wear a normal crew neck T-Shirt. The other is a bear on my left index finger. The finger tattoo is easily covered up with a band-aid, and the collar bone tattoo is also easily covered up with a collared shirt. So my question is, is this something I should be worried about and consider having removed?

Get a Tiger tattoo to complete the "lions and tigers and bears, oh my" set and then blame the whole thing on your 'Wizard of Oz' obsession with Dorothy. Then start mumbling "lions and tigers and bears, oh my" with your teeth and fists clenched and start rocking back in forth in your chair in between oral board questions. They will waive any sit and reach tests if you also bring your knees up to your chest in a fetal position while you rock. Bring a small Terrier in a basket and ask about future K9 positions.

If they ask why they should hire you, a good answer given your theme: "Well, when I talked to the police recruiters, they said the qualities they were searching for were Brains and Courage. And I thought, 'Hey! Me too!!' So here I am."

Then complete the zoo with a Raven, an Oriole and a Terrapin for a Baltimore theme.

(sorry, I was just forced to watch that movie again the other day and cracked myself up at your expense.) Also. I'm not a LEO so the above strategery may or may not work but they will remember your name.

P.S. The above will also work with the new military policies with variations in case the police gig doesn't work out. For example: "Q: Why do you want to become a Marine? A: Well the recruiter said they were looking for a Few Good Men and I thought 'Hey! Me Too!' So here I am. Maybe we can find them together!"

It's amazing to me that everyone and their dog has a cell phone, but apparently no one uses them to actually make calls. The only way they know how to get information is to go on the Internet and ask anonymous persons rather than just phone the people who actually know the answer.

Actually I called them and they said the only way to find out their policy was to speak to a detective when i go down for my civil service exam. I live 2 hours away. I'm not exactly trying to waste my time.
