Anyone out there trying for the upcoming TX state Trooper Academy??
Anyone out there trying for the upcoming TX state Trooper Academy??
I am looking into it right now but unfortunately I wont be able to go to the academy until HJan 2013. Have you started your application process?
Well the only thing that I have done is sent my application in. Austin has already sent me an emal back saying that they have reviewed my app and for me to continue on with the process. I have until the end of next month to get in the best of shape so i can pass the physical test!! Its a work in progress!!........Why would you have to wait till 2013 to apply?
Has anyone heard anything about when the next academy is going to start???.......
Have not heard when the academy will be. Currently waiting for background
HondaB817......How as the pt test and written test for you? Was the written anything like the practice test on the site?
The reading test was not hard at all very basic. The math is similar to the practice, look over the web sites they recommend and you will be okay
The pt test was not bad at all
Sounds good, if you dont mind me asking what were your pt scores? What region are you in?
Region 1. 89 push/76 sit 1210 run
Yeah I'm in region 1 as well........that's cool man good luck with the rest of the process
Maybe you guys could shine some light on some questions of mine, considering that I can't find the exact info that I'm looking for in any of the other threads.
I have some conflicting information, all from the Texas DPS. The information is regarding how many credits you need in order to apply for Trooper. One site on the Texas DPS site says that if you have at least 60 credits and you are 20 years old, then you can apply for Trooper. However, the description on the Texas Ranger site says that the basic requirements for Trooper are that you have 90 credit hours. So which one is the actual requirement
I am qualified with the Physical Readiness test, and my vision is good to go 20/20. So on all other requirements I am at least pre-qualified, all though I am not very far into this process at all.
It has just been lowered to 60 credits.
Be Safe.
"DON'T TOUCH THE TROOPER!"
Copy that, thanks for the response.
Also, how many Academy classes do they run each year?
Thanks Sir
bjgLPA...........yes the education requirments have been changed. Use to you had to have 90 hours of college or an approved associates degree, but now all you have to have is just 60 hours of college. I also had a issue with that a couple years back when I first applied, so now with the changes im back in the running.
There is an academy going on right now which is the A12 class, the next one is set of either April or May B12 class. I've heard that their going to try and get 3 academys in within the year, but I've also been told that once the B12 class starts that they may wait to start another one after the physical year which is September.
