    Am I DQ'd?

I will start with the good, I am getting ready to separate from the Air Force under an honorable discharge. I will have served 7 years and 10 months, as a Security Forces member(Air Force MP) with a specialization in Combat Arms Training and Maintenance. I have a BS in Exercise Science. I am OC pepper spray qualified as well as a TASER instructor since 2007.

The bad when I was 18 or 19 while working at a department store I let some "friends" come thru my register without paying for about 450$ worth of stereo equipment. I was caught of course, however I was not arrested they offered me what they called citizens restitution and I paid for the merchandise. Will this DQ my application? Will this even be kept on file at this employer after almost eight years?

I joined the military hoping to right this wrong and have had an outstanding military career with numerous decorations and zero markdowns on all Evaluation Performance Reports.

No arrest is a big plus and I am sure the store kept records. Were you fired or did you remain on?

Everyone makes mistakes. Just be honest....own up to it in the process and you might be OK. It will be a hurdle but not one so big I don't think you can't get over with some agencies.

Do you have any more " good" to overshadow the bad ?

Can you now do things within your community to be a positive influence , role model and be a helping
    hand ?

That's a pretty black mark, though years of military service and an otherwise good record might not be completely overshadowed.

How many times did you do it before someone caught you?
