I graduate in a few weeks with my A.S. in criminology and am finishing to my B.S. in Criminology. I actually have students in my class that have felonies, but were told that if they have the degree they will get hires..... I shake my head in shame..... I have been a good girl my whole life, I have worked hard and am graduating w/ a 3.8 yet I am in class with these poeple with false hopes... |

I've seen it firsthand, where an admissions associate at a small tech college will promise someone the world with whatever degree they want to receive. I've seen CJ degrees being sold as guarantees to becoming a "CSI agent" (whatever the hell that is :rolleyes  . The problem with these schools and admission departments like this is they see new students and their tuition as increases in their profit margins (much like if Kellog's sells a million more boxes of cereal this year, their profit margins go up).
Good, reputable CJ programs typically have some sort of disclosure form that they have incoming CJ students sign basically stating that they acknowledge the fact that if they have a criminal record, they opportunities for employment are severely impaired. |

Sure, I heard there are a lot of new openings in good ol' Mexico! The sun, the beautiful coastal regions, and you'll never have to worry about internal affairs, ever! You probably won't even need to go into a school there! Win win situation in my opinion.
