The " pyrotechnic " device certainly is close enough to a gun that I woudn't want to have that concern over me with your immigration status. Find a safe way to donate or destroy it. Donate as suggested would best be done without your name involved.

Same with the knife. Mere possession gives the police lawful reason to arrest you even if you didn't intend to use it in a criminal matter. I would suggest doing the same with it as the first item.
