    Questions about TASER

Hey its me again. I have a question about tasers. over the course of my life I've seen civilians own and openly carry Pepper Spray on key chains/purses, stun batons, stun canes and tasers. I looked online and couldn't find the legalities of having a Taser M26 and whether it would be aloud to open carry in Florida. I know it's not a firearm and would not be in that category. Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    (b) A nonlethal stun gun or remote stun gun or other nonlethal electric weapon or device which does not fire a dart or projectile and is designed solely for defensive purposes.
The one I'm talking about fires a dart/ projectile. Though I'm confused about the remote stun gun. What does that entail?

At $500, you could buy a good used gun and a supply of ammo. If you want a TASER, the C2 is $400 and delivers a 30 second ride allowing you time to escape. The M26 only delivers 5 second cycles unless you hold the trigger down, which prevents you from escaping. For self defense, I do not see the purpose of either the M26 or X26. Police use them because we intend to remain at the location and apprehend the suspect, something that a smart citizen using it in self defense would not do.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

And, if you use the C2 effectively and get away, all you have to do is file a police report of the incident and TASER will send you another C2 free.

    And check 790.053. It states:

    790.053 Open carrying of weapons.—
    (1) Except as otherwise provided by law and in subsection (2), it is unlawful for any person to openly carry on or about his or her person any firearm or electric weapon or device. It is not a violation of this section for a person licensed to carry a concealed firearm as provided in s. 790.06(1), and who is lawfully carrying a firearm in a concealed manner, to briefly and openly display the firearm to the ordinary sight of another person, unless the firearm is intentionally displayed in an angry or threatening manner, not in necessary self-defense.
    (2) A person may openly carry, for purposes of lawful self-defense:
    (a) A self-defense chemical spray.
    (b) A nonlethal stun gun or dart-firing stun gun or other nonlethal electric weapon or device that is designed solely for defensive purposes.
    (3) Any person violating this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
Although I doubt the mean, by open carry, to tote it around on your belt in a holster like a pistol. That would be most likely asking for trouble.

All of your answers have big a big help. Yes I wouldn't keep it open carried I just wanted to know if it was legal and I felt my safety/ well being was in jeopardy but not my life. I'd hold a concealed carry for protecting my life.

I have not no, but I did buy my Girlfriend and her daughter pepper spray and she liked to show it off to her friends lol.

I myself am not a fan of mace. When I was a child it was used on me and I had to be sent to the hospital.
