    Back on track.

I can only think of one gun that may meet your list of demands. A service size 38 special revolver with a magna-trigger conversion and magsafe frangible ammo.

The magna-trigger is a mechanical device installed in the gun. It also comes with a ring to wear on your finger. The ring is a magnet. When the magnet is near the gun, (and excuse the lack of technical terms, I'm a techno idiot), a piece of metal in the device moves, allowing the gun to be fired. When the magnet is not near the gun, the piece of metal prevents the gun from being fired. Sort of the same way the new S&W key locks work, but with a magnet instead of a key.

The magsafe ammo is basically epoxy with lead shot suspended in it. Doesn't penetrate walls well at all, and dumps it's energy fast into soft tissue.

That and a S&W K frame 38 special is an excellent home defense gun in the first place.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

An amateur will train until they get it right. A professional will train until they can't get it wrong.

IMO, ammo like Magsafe and Glaser doesn't perform well enough in ballistics tests to really be counted upon for personal defense. Without getting into the technical details, they don't achieve good enough penetration to really ensure incapacitation.

A round needs to be selected for personal defense because it can do the most damage, not the least.

The sound of a shotgun being racked is pretty intimidating. As for lethality in hitting legs\arms... well, you best be avoiding that line of thought altogether.

On the plus side, with a shotgun you can hit all the arms and legs at once if you do it right!

    Or this baby:

You could even modify the ammo by inserting push pins at the tip - for that "ow" factor...
