criminal justice major with criminal record

Hi I am new to this forum and joined this forum because I am very interested in career in criminal justice. I am currently 18 and am going to college I want to major in criminal justice but I have a juvenile criminal record with various things on it such as fighting and possession. I changed my way at the age of 16 and I am now 18 so it has been 3 years and it will be 7 years roughly when I recieve my degree if all goes well of course. Now my question is, is it worth it majoring in criminal justice if I have a juvenile criminal record? because i don;t want to major in it then not be able to find a job becasue of my past. Any advice, answers would greatly be appreciated

Major in something else. Even if you get hired, a criminal justice degree is no more helpful than anything else and is basically worthless for most other fields. Get a degree in something you can use in another career and if you try for police, it'll be equally useful when you apply. If you don't make it, you have other options.

I would look into the requirements for becoming a nurse or paramedic if you have an arrest record. Were you ever adjudicated as an adult on any of your arrests? Or, were any of them for felonies? In Florida, you can not be granted a license for either of those fields if you have felony arrests on your record, although I'm not sure if it applies to juveniles who are arrested and charged as juveniles.

    Just something to think about.

Dont worry, you will make a great attorney.
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
