Been that way in Oregon for decades, at least ever since I started as a cop and that was a long time ago.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Been that way in Arizona for decades. Don't carry the original title in the car, though.

Yeah but at that time you had to register your horse.

I'm amazed at the number of people that do this. Of course, it seems like most people seem to carry any piece of paper that's even remotely related to their vehicle in the glovebox.

...except for the registration and insurance, of course.

In Texas you do not have to keep your registration in the vehicle. Just keep your registration stickers up to date. You only have to provide your drivers license and proof of insurance.

That is what I thought!!! Because about 10 tears ago I never carried my registration and when I moved back I was told it was the law to have in the car...

Now the reason I ask is because I picked up a brochure on preventing car theft and one suggested way of preventing theft was to not keep your registration in the car.. I am not sure what that has to do with theft of an automobile, but back in the important paper paper place it goes!

    Thank you, Texas Cop.
