    This was on the weekend?

Why should they treat you any different if you are still mouthing off. You haven't grown up yet and they know this by your actions and your smart mouth. You mentioned "you still got a mouth" but when your sober you try to you work to stop it. You are obviously still drinking and still mouthing off so they will continue to do their job until you grow up. Don't pretend to be cleaning up your act because your tired of them doing their job with one more pain in the a** they have on their post.
Honest, I'm trying. It's not that easy when people come at you hard. I'm walking down the street doing nothing wrong (honestly, I'm not being a pain in the a** on their post) and suddenly they're all in my face...not that easy to hold back. MOST times this year, I've held back. Yeah, this last weekend I screwed up.

    And I'm not still drinking.

I understand that you think you were doing nothing wrong and at that particular time maybe you weren't. It is those other times that you didn't "hold back" and these officers had to deal with you. There is no such thing as I am really changing most of the time. What that means is that there is some catalyst that puts you down that road of screwing up again. My bet is alcohol, your friends, and nothing substantial to do. I really do agree that a little time in the military would change your life for the better and forever. The service will give you plenty to do and teach you to respect yourself and others. Then you will have changed.

    Yeah, I know that, inside.

There is no such thing as I am really changing most of the time.
....ok, yeah, I can get that. I'm not there yet, I know.

You're right, there are catalysts. I've been spending a lot of time over this last year on working that out. And I'm making progress in other areas - and yeah, honestly it bugs me when I can do good and then I turn around and I still got those cops on me...I know, it's just another thing I need to work through. Just sounds like it might take the longest out of everything.

I didn't respond to the military idea. I'm not against the idea but I didn't want to sound like I was just making excuses. I've got this leg I've had operations on, will have at least one more on while I'm growing. Real restricted in sports (I don't get medical clearance for inter-mural at school). That's all we need to say bout that.

Roos can get a bit firey if cornered.

We were chasing some when we were kids on our motorbikes. My folks have a 400 square mile sheep station (ranch) that backs onto a salt Lake (Lake Torrens - its about the size of Delaware). Anyway we used to chase them through the sandhills for fun.

One day I was chasing this great big red buck. He was about 6'4" tall and built like a brick sh1t house. He ends up stopping and shaping up to me. I just parked up a bit from him and looked at him. Then my brother's dog ran at him and tried to bite him. This roo picked him up with his front legs/arms and started shaking the daylights out of that dog. Bit his ear off too.

My brother ran in there to get the dog, and the roo turned on Paul too. Grabbed him by one shoulder and started trying to bite his neck. While doing that the roo is leaning back on his tail and they try and hit you in the guts with their back legs. Their back legs have these long claws they use to gore your guts out.

Well I ended up running in their and hitting the roo in the face with a big rock just to get Paul out of their (his dog had bolted by this time, minus it's ear). Paul got away and the roo just stood there looking at us grunting and bleeding from the nose.

Paul gave his dog a yelling for going in there after him.

We left the roo just standing there getting his breath back.

We don't have roo catcher's but there are professional roo shooters.

Their meat has been used for dog food for years, but lately it has become more popular. It is beautiful meat...very gamey. Dark red and almost free of fat. very strong taste. A lot of restaurants serve it with some sort of fruit glaze. I love it.

    and a more serious one...

this is two little ones playing....

When they really get going, and they are two big red bucks, you can hear them thumping into each other for miles

Funny, Cat and I were thinking the same thing. Get away from the town for awhile, gets some real life experience, and maybe even a college degree or at least a GI Bill. You'll be amazed at the changes you see when you come home after boot camp in full uniform. Its funny how much you change after 4 years in the military! It's either that or go way out of your way to be extremely polite every time you see a member of your local law enforcement.
    Wrong door, buddy

I already responded about military. Not happening. And I got to graduate high school yet so I can't just leave (yet).

I'm going to see what happens after I get off probation next month. These two cops stopped me the other day, I was walking to my grandma's to take stuff for Thanksgiving. Why? I'm walking down the street in the middle of the day, not in a high crime area, not near where drug dealers live, I'm not doing anything wrong. But they stop me. The second time in 2 weeks that there has been no justification at all for stopping me. I feel they need something else to do with their time.

As for the "cops" stopping you and "they should find something better to do".. You have to realize that part of our job is to be "proactive"...In my city we have had a rash of burglaries etc. all over, all times of day, all types of areas..WE FI (field interview) just about everyone out and about..We don't "detain" them or violate their rights, we simply talk to them and try to identify them..It lets people know we are out there doing our jobs and not "eating donuts at the donut shop"..Most people will talk to you etc, if they have nothing to hide..I would suggest just being respectful when dealing with the Police and it may take time but if you change (as you say you have) and show them respect etc. over time they will realize you have changed...its not gonna happen overnight...

There's nothing very 'proactive' about what they're doing here. I could understand them stopping me to talk about something specific - but they don't. They just stop me to have a go at me.
I didn't think anything would happen overnight, but when nothing happens in 11-12 months...I'm thinking bout giving up on them.
