I am trying to become a LEO here in LA or SD. I am 25 years old and have my BS in Aviation Technology. I have been arrested for a wet reckless in 2006. Everything has been settled since then. I have tried 1 illegal substance, which is Marijuana.. about 20-25 times. Never been arrested for anything else except the wet reckless. I have 1 speeding ticket.. 9 years ago. ... I speak English and Korean fluently. One time.. I picked up a wrist band and didn't return it to the seller.. so I guess I stole it. Other than the wet reckless and marijuana use.. I don't have anything else I feel bad about. That is about it.. I know that there are going to be people applying that do not have criminal records or past marijuana usage. All I want to know is.. do I have a chance? If there is any other information that I should write down, please let me know. Honest opinions are much appreciated. Thank you.

I think it's a DWI that got plead down to a reckless driving. It shows up differently in some states due to alcohol having been involved.

The "wet reckless" (wtf?) is going to probably be your biggest issue.
You may have taken a plea for that, but the facts of the case (police report) will come out during your background. If it was a DUI, that's how it will appear on your background investigation.
That said, your college is good (a well respected member of this forum has the same degree as you), and the language skills is a huge plus.
You have some hurdles to get over. Just keep going on the straight and narrow path, and go through the process.
Make sure your credit is in order and your driving record stays clean.
