What voice recorder do you use?

I am in need of a voice recorder and I thought the one that the police carry may be the best one to serve my needs. However, I am unable to locate the make/model and therefore any vendors.

I'm looking for something that will record for extended periods (8+ hours), be rechargeable (so money isn't spent on batteries), and has the ability to be concealed.

Can you tell me what voice recorder you use? Or, are you familiar with any that you can recommend to me if you don't think yours would be a good choice?

Digital voice recorders capable of recording many hours are offered all over the Net and at retail stores. It sounds like you are asking what type do we use on investigations. That type of information is classified and will remasin so.

To the OP: We aren't issued anything like that but if we were you could bet it would be the cheapest one sold.

We have a parrot. It works much like the answering machine on the Flintstones.
Ours are newer than Fred and Wilma's so we can get about 10 hours if we use mp3 format but only 5 if we use the .wav.
The City board did approve an accessory. The waxstring can by using the this we can set the parrot recorder next to one end and the other close to the person we are recording that way we can record from a further distance.

There are some nice ones out there that are small and plug straight into a USB. How nice depends on how much. Some of our officers are now carrying pocket scorpion cameras for interaction with suspects for around the $100 mark.
