My child was threatened by her friend's mother

My daughter is 16 and got into an argument with one of her friends at school (let's call her Naomi). I told my daughter to give Naomi some space and let things cool off. The next day my daughter called me in tears. Naomi's mother texted my her, accusing her of bullying. She called her "weak willed" and threatened to have her kicked out of school. She said she has a friend who is a police officer and he told her that it was within her right to do this. She also said "if my daughter kills herself, I will use my last breath to return the favor".

I called Naomi's mother (who is 42 years old, by the way) and told her to stop texting my daughter. I wasn't at home at the time, hadn't seen the texts yet and didn't know their threatening nature. She has stopped texting, but I'm still worried that she might do something stupid. Obviously she's not in her right mind. Could she have my daughter kicked out of school? What legal recourse do I have?

Only the school can kick your daughter out of school. No police officer in his right mind would get involved in a situation like this involving one of their friends.

You can just sever contact with both the daughter and the mother or you can send a certified letter advising her and her daughter to cease contact with the both of you in any form. The latter may inflame things so for now , I would let this sleeping dog alone.
