I live in Pennsylvania and my daughters cheer coach told her and a few in the squad that she had pink panties on and a pink bra. The girls are 10 years old and my daughter was very uncomfortable about it. I feel it is unapropriate and think something should be said to protect the girls or am I overreacting? If a football coach told a player what type of underwear he was wearing It would be the same right? Has a law been broken and what do I do?

Just saying what kind of underwear she's wearing isn't against the law, but I'd need a lot more info before I'd get upset about it.

FWIW, my male coaches walked through our locker rooms all the time when the guys were changing, no big deal.

Heming. It is my conclusion your issue is a school administrative issue, not a police problem.

Talk to the coach's employer about your concern.

She is a female coach and I have no board to take it to since it is independent from the school. Innapropriate comments are constantly made by her and I think she went too far. I was hoping to get a serious reply. I'm a mother who just wants to protect her child.

With no " supervision " in place as you mentioned , you can either go directly to the coach or you can pull your daughter out.

How do you know the girls weren't talking to each other about this and the coach overheard ? Do the girls have any kind of a locker room where they change ? Are any of her undergarments visible through her clothes or do they protrude ? Our local football team(s) have been wearing pink__________________in support of breast cancer awareness.

If you do choose to talk to the coach , I would suggest you make the approach on the light side rather than go in with guns blazing. You may find a reasonable explanation ( even if you dont like it ) that don't make the coach out to be Attilla the Hun.

If you determine or decide that her actions are innappropriate , then you can either ask her to stop or remove your daughter.

As a PA police officer , I see no evidence of a crime or anything close.

It is good to be cautious and alert but in this case I believe that you are over-reacting. Be careful, this coach could be a great dedicated coach and a misunderstanding such as this could be greatly exaggerated as it is told over and over and subsequently her reputation ruined. If you are concerned, talk to the coach and inquire how a conversation such as this came up. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and all is well. If you are not happy with her answers and you think there is a lot more going on then go to the administration. Let us know.

Okay, so the coach told the girls that she (the coach) had on pink panties and a pink bra; I also think that it was a reference to the month-cancer awareness etc.

If it turns out to be something different, address it.
