Can my parents lock me in my room?

I got beatings too, which is why I never hit my kids other than light taps on the butt when they were toddlers. And that was to let them know I was displeased, not to hurt them.

It takes some ingenuity to not just grab a kid and hit them, but I used some methods that were just as effective, if not more. I've arrested enough kids who got the hell beat out of them to prove to me there are other ways.

My daughters each have two kids apiece and they have never hit their kids either. And they are all better behaved than most I've been around that are their ages.

I always figured that hitting a kid only tells them that if you're bigger than they are. Show me a kid that's a physical bully in school and I'll show you a kid that gets his @ss kicked at home all the time. It teaches fear, not respect.

Oh give it a rest drama queen. If your building burns down that often then it would seem you'd already be looking for another place to live.

FYI we ARE lookin for another place to live and the building hasn't burnt down just a couple of apartments did which is enough if you happen to be in one of them. The second fire was a woman who set fire to her own apartment because she was mad they raised the rent and the crazy thing is that after she got out of jail on bail they let her move back into the building!!!and I don't feel safe with a pyro in there. But whatever...

I've had a 43 y/o woman tell me her 8 y/o daughter was "..to much to handle." and "..nothing I do to her works." She asked for recommendations because the 8 y/o was picking on other girls at school for their clothing and not having a "cool cellphone".

So when mom asked me what to do, I told her to take away her clothes/cell phone and send her to school for a couple of weeks in the same outfit. She got upset with me as did the 8 y/o with a snide little look if disgust.

I honestly didn't think mom would do it. I ran into them at the court hearing for some of the other stuff going on. Apparently mom did follow through and it's a night and day difference with that little girl.

I got offered cookies, but after having a flash back to the inside of their household, I quickly declined with a clever thank you and a smile.

I remember those calls... IMO absolutely pathetic how many calls for service we got because someone's [insert ages 5-18] year old was out of control and they don't know what to do... Even worse, the PRIORITY (i.e. drop everything else and respond to this call first asap) calls we got for the same damn reasons... too many people I came across shouldn't have been allowed to have kids...

I maintained a perfect record, I never did anything for them. They raised the little bastards to be what they are and now they want the state to take over for them. Homey don't think so.....
