    Machete

I have recently decided to purchase a machete from an online site. However, this site does not provide information as to the legality of their weapons. I tried to look up whether these were legal in Ohio (where i live) so that i would not accidently violate any laws, but could not find anything specific on sword (specifically machete) purchase and usage regarding if a liscence is needed, length restrictions, etc. Also, i was wondering if there are any age restrictions on purchasing/owning these type of items. I intend to also buy one for my fifteen year old cousin, but am not sure if he could legaly be in possesion of it. Any information or insight on the matter that someone knowledgeable could provide or give me a link to would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    With Regards,
    Jusik

Exactly. If you intend to use them to cut down brush (which is what they were designed for), there isn't any problem. If you intend to take them off of your property and swagger around with them, problem.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Well, i plan to use mine to cut brush, but he just wants it to put on his wall; thinks it'd be really cool. Oh, and since I asked him,I might as well put it in here; Besides just wanting it for his wall, when i asked him what he'd use it for, he only half jokingly said "it would be nice to have on hand in the event of a zombie apocalypse, you know, just in case."

I'm not familiar with Ohio but I'm guessing if you do stuff around the yard and/or keep it inside the house, you should have no problem... And when the zombies do come, I'm gonna have bigger problems than you carrying a machete to protect yourself with... lol

You think of asking his parents what they think of the idea?

Yes, i did check with his parents, and they see no issue with it, they just wanted to make sure there were no laws that might be potentially violated in so doing; hence my post here. Thanks Samuel and retdetsgt for helping answer my question.

    With Regards,
    Jusik
