what counts as a concealed knife (garland texas)

i used to carry around a 5.5 inch fixed kabar that would hang low from my belt and was easily
noticeable even if my shirt was tucked in or not , my dad told me stop carrying it because even though it was legal that eventually i was going to get in trouble somewhere from somebody whether i was in the right or wrong-so i stopped, i recently got a diamond blade 3.5
inch folder that i must say is much better than the kabar as far as sharpness goes(i like it)
problem is i would like to carry it in the sheath it came with on my belt (which my dad said would be fine) but my shirt when un-tucked covers the knife and sheath completely and i was afraid if that would make it illegally concealed or not i dont know, i dont like my shirt tucked in its not my style but neither is doing illegal stuff, could someone give me some help on this?

If the knife is legal, it doesn't matter if it's concealed or not. I've carried a knife legally in my pocket with a 3" blade since I was a kid (and that's been a long, long time). You might google your state laws and see what the legal blade length is in Texas.

I don't know Texas laws, but a fixed blade knife may be considered different from a folding blade. I would think a 3.5 folding knife should be okay though. Perhaps a Texas officer can jump in here with better info.

"Illegal knife" means a: knife with a blade over five and one-half inches; hand instrument designed to cut or stab another by being thrown; dagger, including but not limited to a dirk, stiletto, and poniard; bowie knife; sword; or spear; Butterfly and Switch blade knives are listed as illegal weapons as well. (the hand instrument designed to cut of stab another by being thrown is pertaining to Chinese stars or other items that are similar that doesn't pertain to a pocket knife you decide to throw at someone cause if you did that then its just agg. assault/w a deadly weapon a much worse offense than unlawful carry of a weapon)

You do not have to conceal a folding knife or a fixed blade knife, just make sure that blade is under 5 1/2 inches. I suggest you stick with the folding knife. When I approach someone wearing a fixed blade knife on his belt, my first thought is (if he pulls that out, can I draw my weapon quickly enough to stop the threat)" my second thought is (what kinda douche wears a fixed blade knife when he is not out on the ranch). People that have a small folding knife I'm not as worried about. Just know that the police will treat you differently if you are wearing a 5" fixed K-BAR VS. a 5" folder.

    Depends on your state.

Two things will get you noticed. Acting stupid with it. (ie criminal act)
and a complaint from some little old lady in the supermarket.

Do yourself and us a favor, get a nice folder and put the army knife back in
your drawer. You are not rambo and it is time to grow up and act like an adult.
Im not being mean, but the last person who had one of these, also had the brass
knuckles in his back pocket. He caught two charges of carrying a concealed weapon.
    Along with the battery charge.
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL
