London Police riot control

Good Day all,
Im sure you all have heard about all the riots going on in London . Do you guys think that these cops are being too soft on these thugs? I have read news media some of the police were siting back and watching these thugs destroy privite property also the police are not using all the riot control weapons police have like water cannons ,tear gas bombs. big batons. Im just a joe citizen but I would think if this happen here the cops will go in full riot gear and beat down all the thugs andt throw these pukes in jail

We've never been able to use water cannons on people. I understand they are going to there though.

wow Police cant use water cannons . I thought that would be a good non deadly way to clear the street of thugs, Im sure glad I live here in the USA where we have the best trained cops in the world.

Er we can use water cannon, and baton rounds. It just needs the brass to say, "use Baton Rounds". And the C130's to get them back from Northern Ireland. As for the media the ones siting back are the ones that have never been issued riot control gear and are not stpid enough to walk into a wall or petrol bombs. Having policed ywo full scale riots in my career over here, I can tell you that petrol bombs make your nuts really hot even when wearing nomex under pants!
The media is also mis reporting alot of stuff, and are partly to blame for as they were broadcasting things like, "Well we have just heard the Police have pulled out of this area and moved to XXXX to quell looters". Cue all local scrotes to come back out and start looting again.
