Need Help... Neighbor smokes weed every day...

I live in a condo and my next door neighbor smokes pot everyday. It has gotten to the point where you can smell it throughout my house. I want to call the cops but I'm concerned about what they really can do. There are other condos connected but I am 100 percent sure its my neighbor. Our bathrooms are side by side and at night it fills my bathroom up(as if someone was smoking in my house). Is there anything the cops can do? Would they have to be called out when the smell is present? Thanks. (I live in Alabama)

To be effective, yes, the smell would have to be present when they get there.

You could always try talking to him first about it...

The police would likely only stop it temporarily anyway. He will just buy more weed and he'll probably realize you called and make it worse just to spite you. That's my opinion.

He's a young guy and probably wouldn't want to listen to me. I am second guessing calling the cops. I wish he would just move but his family owns the condo and doubt that will happen. I know the cops can't do much unless he is sitting on a few pounds or something. I'm sure he is your everyday pot head. So all he would get is a fine or something and be back pissed off at me. It just sucks to have to smell this crap everyday.

Do you know the parents at all? If they are decent people they may not go for it and kick him out. Or they may say little Johnny is innocent and think you are lying...

Don't know the parents but I'm sure they don't care at all. This guy is suppose to be in school. I live in a town close to a college. He never leaves his house, has friends coming over all the time. I think he got in trouble in the past because i didnt see him for a few months and heard some other people talking about it. I think his parents just pay for everything and live somewhere else.
