Transporting a firearm in a PU truck

    Good Day all,
I like to know what is the law for transporting a unloaded cased weapon in a pick up truck. I understand guns need to be in a trunk if you have one and in the rear part of car if you have a hatch back car but what is the rear part of a PU truck is it the box of the truck or is it behind your seat

We'd really have to know what state you're in to be able to give you an answer.

I'm assuming you live in New Mexico, In Texas it doesn't really matter if the gun is unloaded or not as long as its not sitting out in the open where everyone can see it. I will clarify that a little bit If I walk up to your car and can see it thought the widow that's not good. You also don't have to have a concealed carry license to carry it in your vehicle, only on your person. You can carry it on your person to or from any property that is under your control IE: your residence. If you are a commercial driver I don't think you are supposed to carry one at all that my only apply to vehicles that in combination weigh over 26001lbs. This all applies to Texas im not sure about New Mexico.
