    What did this officer mean?

Former officer I should say. I was talking to a teacher who taught classes on driving a while ago, when it was time to get my license. We made some small talk and he said he use to be a police officer. I asked him why he decided to switch to driver teaching, and he said there was too much internal fighting. I was concentrating more on the class so I didn't ask him more about it but now I'm curious as to what he meant. Was he saying he quit cause there was too much conflict over jurisdiction or collars, or what is internal fighting?

You could contact him again and ask why he left. Then you can use the info for your screenplay.

Maybe his wife worked there too.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Glad to see you're back Harmonica.

And to answer your question- How would we know? You are asking why someone who none of us knows and was supposedly a cop at some point left law enforcement? You would have to ask him- there are more reasons for leaving law enforcement than there are for joining.

With your ongoing interest in law enforcement maybe you should have a go at it yourself. You have clearly shown that you have many ideas about how things should be done by officers, join up and change the system so it matches more closely with your own beliefs.

    If not you, who?

Beats the hell out of me. Could be that admin was passing dumb policies and disciplining people for dumb stuff. Could be he p1ssed in someones corn flakes that became a supervisor and decided to make life miserable for him until he quit.

I personally think he was talking about the inner struggle of his soul in direct relation to the structure of the building he was working in..

If he went to work feeling down and out, the internal structure of the building would sag and slope. You can understand that working in a building that sags and slopes is very trouble some as an occupational hazard.

There for it was internal collar ninja fighting of the third kind.
