Finally Heard Something

I just got an email from Hollywood PD in FL saying I'm number seven on their eligibility list. Should I expect to hear back again? I'm so excited to hear anything. Thanks to all you guys that help us through the process, it really helps.

Well I guess it depends, are they hiring people? You could be #1 on my agencies list, but we are in the middle of laying off officers so your chances of getting hired are pretty much zero.

I have no idea how large Hollywood PD is, or if they are hiring. Larger departments tend to hire large groups of people at once, a small department may take several years to hire up to #7 on their list. I know a local department in my area that only hires an officer when one leaves, or retires.... So they hire a person about every 3 years.

Best of luck, the hiring process is very long and painful. Stick with it.

Yes they are hiring. They've been on a freeze for months (maybe longer) and finally started accepting apps. They have something like 315 officers. I don't know how many positions though.
