Bad music choice?

Hi, im Ty. Im 16 and am new to this website, but from reading it I've learned alot of cool info!

K, my question is not an important one, but I was just wondering. I would like to become a police officer. I also like rap music at the moment. Since lots of rap lyrics include the promotion of illegal activity and also usually have some cop-hate lyrics, is it of really bad taste to listen to it? Do you and/or any other officer you know listen to rap? Just wondering, and thanks for answering.

You can listen to anything you want. I think the music is bad taste, but that's just my opinion. If you live your life in a decent manner and chose friends wisely, you won't have a problem.

I know a few that listen to it and they are excellent cops.

However, I personally don't endorse it because it's not my style and I do not want to finance any idiot that spouts lyrics celebrating criminal activity.

I like some of the beats that come with rap music, but I can never understand what they are saying. You have to speak alot slower for this TX boy to understand.
