I am a student from Chicago,IL i am majoring in criminal justice and would like to interview a police officer, retired or not. I have 3 questions to ask involving the process of interviewing and interrogation. I would need for you to give me permission to use your responses for my paper, we are trying to get opinions from officers in the "real world" and not textbooks. Thank you for your time and patience. My question is:
During your term as a police officer what is your opinion on the Miranda Decision and do you feel that the decison is a valid concept.(Miranda v. Arizona)
What have you done if any, while interviewing a witness to get the most accurate information needed? and how do you know if the witness is lying?
When during an interrogation do you feel that the suspect is going to break and confess? How many interrogations have you done? and from these is there any one that stands out from all the rest and why?
Thank you Officer
