Stay in school.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.
"Wrong door, buddy!"

Agree +1. School is the most important thing on your TO DO list right now, most of the police departments now are requiring you to have a college degree in order for you to join.
School didn't work out for me either, but I made a sacrifice, trust me, in the end, is going to be all worth the wait.
Mike.
If school absolutetly is not going to work out for you, you'e got only one other option:
School didn't work out for me right away. I took a break, got a "good" job (in quotes, because it was good at the time compared to my **** retail job). Then got into dispatching. Wasn't getting anywhere. Went back to college and my career advanced quickly.
I regret not sticking with college the first time. I wish my parents forced me to stay and succeed or join the military. 18 is too young to make life-changing / career-effecting decisions and sometimes you need the right guidance.
School is cool
“I sometimes wish that people would put a little more emphasis upon the observance of the law than they do upon its enforcement”
I partied my way out of two college scholarships, one was academic and the other athletic and ended up having to join the Army. My Dad was not what you would call an enabler when I came home with my tail between my legs.......
I literally grew up in the Army, but I have always regretted not being responsible enough to take advantage of what I had in my hand at one time. I went on to get a bachelor's and graduate degree AFTER I became a cop and believe me, that was no fun either.
Stay in school, you have the rest of your life in front of you. Now is the time to pave the way for your future career. Not to mention, you will be a lot more marketable and even after you are a cop plus promotions will come easier if you have a degree in your back pocket.
Hang in there.
