My ex boyfriend, and my baby's daddy started dealing and using drugs after our breakup 3 months ago. Im having our kid in Augusst and he threatens to take it away from me. Im really afraid because I know he has money and could potentially do this, however if i can proove to the court that he is dealing drugs I could get full custody over the baby. How do I do it? I know he hides the drugs in one of his cars, but if I call the cops on him, I fear for my safety. What can I do??

If you fear for your safety if you tell the police why don't you also tell the police that (i.e. that you're in fear of your safety by reporting his drug dealing)? They're not going to simply take a report from you and then call him and say, "Ellabell told us you were dealing drugs, is that true?" Any law enforcement narcotics unit is going to be more skilled and professional than that.

It is interesting that you broke up 3 months ago and he started to use and sell drugs after you broke up. If I was a drug dealer and broke up with my girlfriend I certainly would not call her up out of the blue and say, "Hey, guess where I'm hiding my drugs. I'm hiding them in the old ford." Are you sure you weren't using drugs with him and now he is threatening to tell the courts about your drug use. If you want to ask our advice please be truthfull about the details you are giving us. Your ex-boy friend can not take your child from you, the natural mother, just because he has a lot of money. He has to show you are an unfit mother and give reasons and evidence. Don't give him any reasons to do this.

As long as you are telling the true and didn't have any involvement with his drugs, you can apply for an order of protection, but at the same time, the way you wrote your "story" sounds iffy...
