Exactly. Any blunt force object with ANY force behind it would leave a bruise at minimum. Now if she had it in her hand or swinging it at you, that's still assault (or agg assault) in many states. If you didn't feel you were in danger with someone with a bat in their hand, then obviously you would probably be looked at as the "aggressor." You're basically telling us that you punched her in the eye in "self-defense," but there were no marks on you and you were not in fear of the bat. I don't care who the person is, if they have a bat in hand and hostile towards me, I'm going to be a tad bit scared. If they actually hit me with it in anger, I'm going to have a mark somewhere. I'm not a doctor or forensic pathologist, but as an EMT for 10 years and a LEO for 9, I can tell you that bats leave marks. One good strike in the right place could kill you. Too many holes in this story. Maybe it was one of these....
