    Missing Person

So my ex-girlfriend has been missing for a few days and her mother keeps asking me if I know where her daughter is. I have no clue and she is thinking that by calling the police they will do nothing since she is an adult. What is typically done if an adult is listed as missing? We think she might be a danger to herself because of an alcohol addiction too which her mom is trying to get her into rehab for. Would that change anything?

You can still file a missing persons report. Just don't expect everyone to drop everything and make finding her the number 1 priority - that's not going to happen. But, once she's in the system, anyone who comes across her and can ID her will find out she's been reported missing.

He/she is entered into the missing persons system database as missing. Anyone who runs his/her name/dob will be notified of his/her being reported as missing.

    For my department, nope.
