    wondering

If caught at an underage drinking party and all the cops do is write down information from ids and take phone numbers. are the people in trouble or is that considered a warning?

It depends on the department, the officer, and state law. You didn't tell us any of that, so we aren't going to know your specific situation.

we rented a hotel room in easton, pa. only 3 ppl out of 12 were of age. the lady next door called the front desk on us three times. we ignored the last call. ppl were cleaning up the bottles and cups before police showed up. i was passed out on the floor, not from drinking to much but bc it was 2 am. two of the younger guys went to bring out trash when the two police officers showed up. they ask how many ppl we said 12. they asked anyone under 21? we were honest and said yes. they asked for ids we were so scared we said we didnt know where they were. they told us to find them we got up and hurried to get the, bringing them back to the officer and we sat down. they wrote down information on the minors although not everyone was id. they took phone numbers as well. they told us they didnt want to cause us any trouble and if they showed back up the 24 year old would go to jail. so it was in our best interest to leave

Sounds like a warning to me. Sounds like you cooperated and went with the program. People who act like that tend to get more warnings than those that dont.
