Why are magic mushrooms which are less toxic then aspirin according to the National Institute For Occupational Safety And Heath (NIOSH) in the US, illegal. Toxity is as follows Psilocybin (641) is rated less toxic than Aspirin (199) and Nicotine (21). Sure its mind altering but so isn't alcohol but in different ways. Why aren't they regulated like alcohol?

Because we live in a democracy, and a majority of people want them to be illegal.
And this is not the proper internet forum to debate the legality (or illegality) of drugs. It always turns into a flamewar.
