Wow I disappear for a few days, and a ton of new responses showed up. I already knew it was illegal federally, but I wasn't sure if local police had the ability to arrest for FCC laws that were broken. I had no idea that the states themselves had laws on this as well. If I am hanging out with this guy, and he has it with him, am I guilty by association (like with drugs)? I'm already concerned that overloading my phone's antenna with garbage signals will damage it, I'd rather not worry about legal problems too when I hang out with someone who has this device.

You and I both know what the simple answer to this question is going to be............don't hang out with him!

Thank you for the response. I kind of figured that was the case. Apart from the jammer, this is a good person. Well he knows I want to be a cop, and I'll tell him either ditch the jammer, or find a friend who doesn't mind risking his freedom.

You can lock this thread if you like, as I feel I have been answered fully on the topic. Thanks again.
