Question about criminal charges...

I have a question about criminal charges. I recently started dating a man and found out that he has a criminal background. He was arrested in 2005 for "solitation for immoral purpose" and arrested on Sept. 30, 2010 for "prostitution". I was wondering if someone could explain these charges to me. He says the "immoral purpose" charge was for street racing for money with an undercover cop. Could that be possible? I am tempted to believe this because his record says that he went to traffic/criminal court.
He claims the prostitution charge is a false arrest. He said he and his friend were coming home from the gym and saw a woman on the street corner and she asked if they had money and his friend said yes. They pulled off and the next thing he knew they were being pulled over by a cop and being arrested. He says he has a lawsuit for wrongful arrest/ entrapment and being treated poorly while in jail. There were 52 men arrested in this prostitution sting. He says that the judge told him the charges would more than likely be dropped because the county went about it wrong.
I am very confused about these charges and wonder if he is telling me the truth. Can someone please explain this to me... like what he had to do wrong to recieve such charges. He is such a caring person... its so hard for me to believe he actually did anything wrong. Whatever anyone can tell me would be greatly appreciated.

He's lying.

"Solicitation for an Immoral Purpose" is another Prostitution charge. He was arrested for trying to pick up a prostitute. A quick Google search of the term turned up this:

Section 9.24.020 Soliciting for immoral purposes.

It is unlawful for any person to offer or agree to a sex act for hire or to endeavor to play the vocation of prostitute, gigolo or pimp, or to endeavor by sign, gesture or action to induce or prevail upon any person to enter any house or room occupied by a prostitute, gigolo or pimp, or make any bold or meretricious display of himself or herself either upon the public streets or in any public place or at any window or doorway, or at any house or room so occupied by her or him, in view of any public street or place or area generally frequented by the public to induce or prevail upon any other person to enter the premises for the purpose of committing an act of sex for hire. (Added during 1993 recodification)

That was the top one; the next thirty are about the same. If someone can find one that could be applied to street racing, I'd be happy to read it... I won't hold my breath though.

Do you really think that a woman walked up an asked for money and he was arrested for prostitution? I guarantee he and/or his friend solicited for it. You have two charges related to prostitution; coincidence? NOT..

I agree with Citicop, he's lying. Now the question you have to ask yourself is why is he lying to me?...

When a police woman is working a prostitution sting, she has very strict rules to follow, the first being the "trick" has to approach her. I'm not going into more details on a public forum though.

Look for a new boy friend, this guy is more than just a liar.

So he's actually been caught and arrest twice for prostitution related offenses. How many times do you think he's actually done it and gotten away with it. My guess is my departments chances of catching you picking up a prostitute is about .01%- meaning you can probably do it a WHOLE lot before you ever get caught.

In addition to what others have said; are ya feeling lucky? If so, do some research on the number of prostitutes that have STD's or HIV positive. He might just be bringing you something more than you have ever wanted.

I was always amazed at the men we arrested when we ran prostitution stings.

We've towed more than a few g-rides and busted one (now former) deputy sheriff from a neighboring county. It was always quite an assortment of people from various socio-economic backgrounds.

That may be true but it doesn't mean that they were shopping for a good time
