    Unhappy Legal Ownership of Puppy

    Hello,
my mom gave my dog away to a day laborer with her papers to watch for a day or two and the day laborer gave the papers and the dog away to another lady. The lady switched all of the puppy's information over to her name without any written consent from us. The dog was brought home and legally owned by my brother. He took no interest in the dog and left it to me. I am in the Navy and had reserve duty one day. The day that I was on duty was the day the dog was given away, I was unaware at the time that the dog was given away. From what I understand she was given away because of a complaining roommate. We've had the puppy since '09 and I'm extremely heartbroken. The lady won't negotiate with any of us. Is there anything we can do?
    Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a civil matter. Maybe your mom didn't want the dog in the first place or got tired of taking care of it - no real reason to give the papers to someone who is only babysitting...

Definitely sounds like a civil issue, not a criminal one.
