I saw the movie "Wanted" and Angelina Jolie was able to make a bullet curve thru the air by flicking her wrist as she shot the gun. She could hit someone standing behind another person this way.
Have any of you ever saved a hostage by curving a bullet?

What I tend to do is shoot up into the air so the arc of the bullet as it comes down strikes the person in the top of the head. Much safer that way..... (unless of course you are indoors, in which case you have to use very low velocity ammunition).

I agree with Darin, just like in that one movie you've got to shoot the hostage in the leg and when he drops then you can shoot the bad guy. Now that's old school!

Thanks for the replies. Darin brought up an interesting question; like in the movie SWAT, who else besides Darin has shot a hostage in a non-vital area to hit the bad guy? Do they train you to do this in the academy?
