What are the testing procedures and guidelines for a correctional officer?

I just got invited to do testing for a correctional officer position. I have not yet went to the academy. I know that I can most likely pass the written exam, but am worried about the physical agility test, due to the fact that I haven't yet had any formal training. The letter states the following: "The test will consist of a written exan and a physical agility test. The test will consist of a 40 yard run which will include running and jumping over a barricade. Simulation of rescue, rendering aid, and arrest are also included in the Physical Agility Course." I am female 5'2" and weigh a whopping 120 lbs and 37 years old. I am currently taking criminal justice classes and am within 9 months of graduating with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I would really like to secure this position. I only have to December 18th to get ready for this. Please help if you can..You can even email me directly if you would like to not post it to an open forum. I am most concerned with the rendering of aid and the arrest areas, since I have not went to the academy as of yet. I am planning on going to the academy after I graduate with my Criminal Justice Degree. Just looking for pointers or advice.

Typically you would have to run a 15-20 beam, jump through an opening about 3-4 feet off the ground, scale a fence usually 6 feet tall, drag a dummy 165 lbs and push a car 20 feet.

This can vary from state to state and department to department.

    Good luck.

I'm sorry for being so blunt, but it is no secret that law enforcement/corrections positions require a measure of physical ability/agility. Why would you have not prepared for that prior to now? What did you expect would happen after graduation?
