    Post LEO applicant

    Hello,
I am currently pursuing a position in the law enforcement field and have a few questions. I had a two juvenile arrests between the ages of 14- 16 and am curious how i would go about finding any information on these, to my knowledge they are sealed. Based on what i have read in previous threads and know it is critical that i mention everything during the background check, sealed or not, so i would like to be well prepared since i can not remember the disposition of the incidents.

    Thanks

You've obviously done some searching of past threads if you know about being completely forthcoming (whether a records is believed to be sealed or not), have you also read where different arrestable offenses carry different weight? I ask because while no arrest will help your cause (and two could certainly hurt your overall competitiveness even more), the nature of *what* offense you commited is material.

Big difference in being arrested twice for minor in possession of alcohol than being arrested twice for DUI, or being arrested for a minor misdemeanor vice a violent felony. Without knowing what you were arrested for, it's difficult to say whether it's something you can overcome with a few years of responsible decision-making or whether this will prevent you from being a cop indefinitely.

Juvy arrest records are sealed to Wal-Mart but not to a government agency that you are applying to work for.

Admit what you did and let the cards fall where they may. Better than saying you were NEVER arrested and later found out to have LIED to a prospective PD.
