Questions about background Check

Do BI's look at facebooks and text messages of potential hires? and can politically incorrect statements be an automatic DQ?.......My background is clean, ive never been arrested or had a run in with the law, ive smoked pot under 10 times, and never been drunk. Never done any drugs but weed, and only had in school suspension for 2 days during high school. The only incident i was involved in was when in a heated political debate on facebook i said some stupid incorrect statement about controversial topics and myself..This was brought to the attention of the school and i had a meeting with them, i totally regret ever saying those things and have entirely moved on since then, but still have a bad reputation among some of my enemies. I hope the PD i apply to sees how i proved that i moved on.

I believe you asked this once already back in October. The answers did not change. Yes, background investigators can and may look at a candidates facebook. I am not sure about text messages. Would it be a automatic DQ? Hard to say, depends on what the department thinks about it. I don't understand facebook, I can't see putting all kinds of pictures and information about myself on the internet. If your that worried about it just delete the account!
