I knew a couple that met at the Academy. They got married a couple of years later. They worked together. They are now divorced.
I don't know if the job contributed to it or not.
I could not work with my wife. I would not be able to overcome the primitive desire to step in and do something (possibly something unprofessional) if someone was to assault her, threaten her etc.
Besides, despite loving my wife with all my heart, I coudln't stand spending 24 hours a day with her. We've had couples on our department marry, get divorced and then marry other cops. One guy used to leave his child support payments in the interoffice mail box for his ex.

whenever one takes vacation, the other one is gone also. So you are two officers short.
On a clear night, I can see the other deputies emergency lights at least 10 miles away.
But it isnt flat here LOL

We used to have a man and wife team working in fraud. Frankly, I never understood how he could stand to live with her, much less live AND work with her.
