I just want to stress the education part. Honorable discharge from the military plus a degree, 4 year is better then 2, is a great place to start. Get your 2 year out of the way before you leave the navy. Most of your local Universities and/or community colleges are not going to give you that many credit hours for the work you've done. I think I had like 48 hours with the community college of the Air force and only like 9 hours transfered.
The other thing I recommend is steady employment. Doesn't matter what you do but it looks better to have worked in one place rather then have had 5 or 6 different jobs in 18 months.
Good luck with getting on in FL. I have a friend who retired from the CG and he's having a very hard time getting on with an agency. Of course he's in the Jacksonville area and wants to remain in that area.
