And when I attempted multiple times to explain what had actually happened, the female detective repeatedly interrupted me while her male sidekick played with his handcuffs and smirked at me.
I didn't explain more earlier because I'm a little nervous about sharing so openly about my life on the internet and because, until the pictures were posted today, it wasn't actually that relevant, and because I was afraid that this would happen... that nobody would want to help me.
And people wonder why victims of sexual violence won't come forward. This would be one of those reasons.
And this definitely answers my question regarding what to do. No need to go down to the police station tomorrow if this is really the attitude that cops have about child pornography and sexual assault. The blood's not on my hands if these creeps who hurt me are out there hurting other children. It's on the hands of cops all over the country who disregard (in the words of greg72982) people who are trying to come forward and put their sex offenders behind bars.
And while I'm at it, let me just say this too: I happen to think it's really wrong for police officers to refuse to take down reports of rape and demand that you go to the ER and pay $2K for a rape kit when you don't even have the $2K to pay. Filing a report about rape should not be conditional of one's ability to pay $2K.
I am so done with dealing with cops. You guys have just confirmed everything that I was hoping I was just being really cynical about.
But no worries... I won't ever call 911 again.
Whoaaa calm down. I wasn't saying disregard to you. I edited my post and since I couldnt delete it altogether I just put "disregard" in place of my original post.
I don't know why the police are blowing you off. Even if you made false reports in the past they shouldn't ignore your request and should at least come down to see if your ex-b/f is there. I'm not sure what this thing about the door not legally being yours is all about. If you are renting the place for legal purposes it's yours. If you want him removed the police can do this, if he refuses, at least here, it's defiant trespass and he goes with me.
