Should i get a underage in this situation??

The other night my boyfriend started throwing me around and so i called the cops. when they got to my place they arrested my boyfriend and asked if i had been drinking and i admitted i had. me and my witness were. I blew positive for alcohol in my system and they wrote me out a ticket. Can they do that if i called them concerning another thing? why would i have called them for help if i knew i would get a ticket myself.

Well you learned something didn't you. Don't call the police if you are also committing an illegal act at the time.

Sort of like when johns call us because a prostitute just ripped them off, or someone who complains that their local drug dealer just sold them a macadamia nut rather than crack.

If I am called to a house because of an ambulance call......( of which we are dispatched on every one of them) and while in the living room I plainly see a marijuana plant growing ( or some other evidence of a crime ) , I can surely arrest someone.

You can't honestly believe that we must IGNORE criminal behaviour just because we are at a house for one complaint and happen to see another unrelated violation ??

The golden rule is ...was the officer lawfully present when he made the discovery ? Did he break in without a warrant because he thought he heard you had stolen property ( unlawful ) or did he break in without a warrant because you called for help and were creaming for help upon his arrival and he came to your rescue ( LAWFUL) .

If you choose to break the law and than call us for ANY reason , don't expect us to overlook your alcohol, drugs , guns or anything else !

The officer was there at YOUR REQUEST and we don't limit ourselves to only the reason for the initial call at hand.
