    Some information needed please

Sorry if this is not a major question but I figured I would get a Cops opinion on this.
Long story short I was arrested for theft under $5000 In June ( In canada), I went to court all charges where dropped as of July 28th. I told the councilor and the lawyers I had to go to the states as of August 27th. They both told me to come back the 3rd of august to get my court information so I can give it to the boarder guard. I went August 3rd to get my papers and they told me it takes 16 weeks to get the information.
The trip has been planned since January and I do not want to get to the boarder only to be sent back, Since all charges where withdrawn will I be ok to pass the boarder?
If not is there anything I can do to be able to cross the boarder.
Thanks for any information you can give me

If I was in your shoes I would be contacting both sides of the border to see what could or will happen based on what you told us.
