Possession acquired without consent. Need help!

I lost a necklace a couple of days ago and I was wondering if i saw that someone found it and was wearing it. Would I be able to get it bak thru the law. I read up on it. And it has to do with possession acquired without consent. It was given by my father and it means a lot to me. Would the law grant me ownership of the item or to the person who found it. If someone could replay soon. That would be great. I don't know where else to get an accurate answer.

You would have to be able to prove it was yours. If it was something unique that you made or there was a particular characteristic that you could identify it as yours, you claim it as yours. Now, that being said, getting it back may be a problem since it's somewhat of a civil matter unless you had reported it lost or stolen to the police and the police could determine it was yours.

You say, they say won't cut it. I could go up to anybody and claim something they have is mine. If I can't prove it someway then it's my word against theirs.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

Did you ask the person that found it, if they would kindly return it?
