Hello, I recently got a ticket for 2 traffic infractions in southern California and had a question on both pending violation.
My first violation was a cvc 22350 which i believe was for unsafe speed and when i initially got pulled over for the first violation.. I couldn't find my insurance, so the officer wrote another violation down for cvc 16020(a).
As I was going over my ticket i found out that Speed Approx was 30mph and the PF/max. speed is 35. Is that an error on the ticket or am I just reading my ticket wrong? Does the PF/max speed refer to how fast I was going or does it refer to the max possible speed on the road?
Miinor errors are generally overlooked or excused. None of us were there, so we have no idea what your speed was or what the Prima Facia speed was at the location. That is a matter you will have to address through the court. And, FYI, you can be speeding even though you are below the posted speed limit. It is all dependant on the conditions of the roadway and immediate surroundings.
My second question was for the violation cvc 16020(a). At the time I couldn't present my insurance to the officer and didn't want to waste his time for me looking for it. After the officer issued my copy and left, I finally found my insurance card and information behind the backseat of my vehicle 10 minutes after the officer left

. Could this charge be dismissed or possibly reduced if I show the court that I had proof of insurance at the time with valid dates corresponding within the infraction date?
It is entirely up to the court. Take proof of your registration and insurance when you appear before the court. You are required, by law to carry proof and present all pertinent documents when you are stopped. If you do not, you get cited. Both infractions are checked non correctable.
