In my state every officer who works outside the station has a personal vest.
And I don't let anybody know in a public forum how much don't wear it. For myself, I have it under my shirt when I have to work the street, no matter how hot it is outside the unit!

There are two things I'm good in, the second is arresting people

I'm looking for Drug/Narcotic Unit patches together with DUI/DWI unit patches for a frame in our Anti-Drug-Team bureau

Also looking for Massachusetts Police and US Capitol City PD patches now!

My old department had a policy, unless you had a medical reason, if you were in uniform you wore it. Some old Sgt's still didn't.

I think I'm one of 3 that actually wear a vest at my new office.

When Charles Moose was our chief, there were some annoying things about him, but I do have to give him credit on that. He not only required everyone wearing a uniform to wear a vest, he wore his uniform and vest everyday. He was the first chief I've ever known of to wear one all the time. He also required all sworn personnel in the chief's office to wear their's too.

Up until then, no precinct captains wore uniforms and it was optional with precinct lieutenants. It was nice to see the brass sweating on hot days along with the grunts.....
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine
